Skipping 3D Secure authentication

The gateway automatically assesses the risk of each payment. Safe transactions require fewer steps, helping customers complete payments faster.

How it works

The Comgate payment gateway assesses the risk of each payment using a wider range of data. If it identifies a payment as low-risk, it asks the customer’s bank to skip 3D Secure authentication. If the bank agrees, the customer does not need to confirm the payment through an additional step, such as approving it in their mobile banking app.

This removes an extra step for low-risk payments, allowing customers to pay faster. If the bank identifies a payment as risky, it will require authentication even when this mode is enabled. Fewer obstacles at checkout mean more completed orders without compromising security.

When it is useful

Fewer unnecessary steps for safe payments can help increase the number of completed orders.

Skipping 3D Secure authentication is useful if you:

want to increase the number of completed payments,

want to reduce unnecessary steps for customers making safe payments,

want to maintain strong security for higher-risk transactions.
